i love watching dc cupcakes

i love the tandem of sophie and katherine

they always reminds me of my LOVE-hate relationship with my sister

and that no matter what happens, your sister will always be your first bestfriend and no matter how much you fight and argue about so many things, the fact remains that there will always be this someone who would care for you and love you for who you are.

my beautiful disaster

i was in the mood to invent a new product for toddler cakes

in time for the holidays.

my initial plan was to create a cake that will attract the attention of kids, handy to eat that even adults will enjoy.  but for some "unfortunate" events, my chocolates didn't "cooperate".  i didn't want to trash all those chocolates because obviously, they're VERY VERY costly....

i heard once from a chef that when it comes to cooking and baking, nothing is wasted...

so balotski... what should you do?

my first batch of this pastry was such a hit! ☺

 everyone loved the contrasting softness of the cake and the crunchy toppings.

it's a banana cake with corn flakes and cashew nuts on top.

orders were coming non-stop for these little babies after i "launched" it in the neighborhood ☻

TIP:

best to reheat in the oven for about 2 minutes before eating

sister act

after series of research and modifications with all the recipes i've gathered, my sister and i (after SO many arguments and banterings, hehe) finally came up with our own version of ensaymada.  

my sister had a HUGE participation in developing our own recipe of this pastry product which originated from Majorca, Spain (according to wikipedia ☺).  she made a lot of suggestions which we incorporated.

we've been through a lot of invention and kitchen tests (and more fights and arguments and banterings over and over again hehe) before we agreed that this is the best so far.  

i still have some ideas in mind to improve it but for the meantime, allow me to share with you our "sister act" joint-project, our very own

SPECIAL ENSAYMADA

it is very soft and cheesy and yummy ☺

can't wait to eat some more!

the triplets

that's how they used to call us when we were kids.

the triplets.

  when you see any of us, expect to see the other two as well.  we're almost inseparable at that time. we were partners in crime.

and most of all,

they're my very first friends.

first pic was taken during our kindergarten graduation day.  we were reciting a poem in that pic (just can't remember if it's ang asong mataba he-he ☺).  i will never forget when we were always the last one to go out our classroom as a punishment because we're very makulit (i think until now hehe ☺).

then the pic below was taken last sunday, august 14, 2011 during our batangas trip with our childhood friends.  it's our first pic together after a very looooooooong time. i felt a certain warmth in my heart just by looking at this pic.  this is one of those moments wherein you suddenly wish to go back in your childhood days.

some friendships were established thru different experiences but ours was built purely from innocence.  we may have gained friends as we grew older but i realized one thing,

friendship don't die, it only rest for a while.

let's celebrate the gift of friendship everyone!
