finally

did i say i want to go to duty free? ☻ well, particulary royal and freeport hehe. i wasn't really excited to be in puregold duty free since it's almost the same with SNR. i believe that most of the sales and best buys are in royal and freeport duty free hehe and FINALLY, before we went home, we all agreed to drop by there for last minute shopping and dinner. ☺

so here's me and ate thea  pretending to be cool and not excited ☻

but the truth was we're very much anticipating this hehe

i really love duty free ♥ ♥ ♥

but i suggest that when you buy chips ahoy, make sure it's from nabisco and there's ORIGINAL in the packaging, it's the best!

 and after our "short" shopping trip, it's time to go home

Royal Duty Free

independence day

it's our 2nd and apparently, last day of team building in subic.  and this time, outdoor activities! yep! most people think that i'm such a "girlie-girlie" girl but the truth is, this is really my kind of thing.  i remember when i was a kid and during my teen years, i used to go to the river near our home and pretend that i was hiking or climbing a mountain ☺  i'm such a nature lover and it just overwhelms me how Father God created things in a very unique way.  do you know that the cure for poison ivy is also poison ivy? cool huh? ☺  well, i just learned that from our guide alfred hehe...

enweis, being in treetop adventure was liberating.  you'll be able to do things you thought you're not capable of doing.  so i guess, since it was june 12 and the country's celebrating our nation's independence day or freedom day, i must say that we're also freed from our fears during our activities in treetop adventure ☺

we were divided in 3 groups and i was part of the GRAY team.  we were tasked to do the cheer (and i was laughing nonstop the whole time hehe).  our first task was to walk in a 30-feet high treetop blindfolded.

after successfully completing the first task, we proceeded to the superman ride ☺  we're all thrilled with this activity.  at first, it was like you're riding the anchor's away of EK because you'll be pulled backwards.  kinda scary though because you can't see what's on your back but going back to the station was really exciting and you'll get to see the whole forest below ☺

next stop, TREEDROP! ☺  i was excited for this activity.  surely, i'm afraid of heights but come on! you'll get to fly once right? okay, okay... not really fly because you're wearing a harness and someone's controlling your big fall but at least, you can pretend right? hehe ☺  everyone, at least almost, somehow wanted to be like superman, and in this activity, you can do it for at least 5 seconds.  don't you think it's cool? ☺

all three activities were exhausting.  as a result, we're all famish and thirsty.  so for lunch,

after an hour break, it's hiking time!  first, we were taught how to survive in the jungle and how to make fire from scratch.  it was a great experience for all of us and like what i've said earlier, this is really my kind of thing ☺

i had the chance to taste the water from a bamboo and it's good :D

then our team was tasked to do the dragonfly dance the way our brother aetas does and it was really fun doing it

after that, it was time to go back for the announcement of winners.  but going back, of course, we can't miss the opportunity for some picture taking hehe

Treetop Adventure

first day of our team building.  we did so many activities. more on teamwork, focus, walking your talk and everything.  how can i ever forget the "forming, storming, norming & performing" and the famous C-D-E-D-C-B-A-A-B-C-D-E hehehe ☺ but what i appreciated most was when we were divided into 3 groups and i got to know more about my colleagues.

to be honest, i was not that excited to attend the team building. first, it's not my first time in subic and i can always go there anytime.  the only motivating factor why i joined the team building primarily because it was the first time that they included the accounting department in this kind of activity.  and second, this is my chance to really bond with my colleagues from the other departments and brent campuses.... okay fine! the real reason was i want to go to duty free! satisfied? ☺ 

but surprisingly, i did enjoy and appreciate our activities.  i got to know my colleagues in a deeper level and felt we really got bonded.  i learned a lot from them and understand where they're coming from. 

it's true that never judge a book by it's cover because if you did, you won't be able to read how beautiful the story is.  same with other people, they may seem shallow at the facade but once you got to know them, you'll realize how beautiful people they really are. ☺

it's our team building the following day so we left brent around 4:30 p.m.  along the way, being "crazy people" that we are, we did almost nothing but laugh ☺

when we reached subic, we stopped by at Meat Plus Cafe in Freeport for dinner.  actually, we're all expecting it to be a small hotel because we thought it was "mid-plus" that's why when we got there, we're all like, "ah... MEAT PLUS..." ☺ enweis, that became our private joke hehe ☺

A friend once asked me, "where's your halo?"  I knew why she asked me that...  I was in a situation where everyone could understand if I lose my temper, but that didn't happen.  They said I have so much control with my emotion.  I guess, I just want to believe that not all battles should be fought and with that, allow me to say my piece in a way that many would understand, the "becky" way! ☺

I choose my battles wisely.  Kung di naman kapatul-patol dedma na lang.  In the end, 'pag di mo pinatulan, sila din naman ang talunan dahil wala silang napatunayan at napagtagumpayan.  Pag pinatulan ko pa sila, bumaba na level ko, humaba pa airtime nila sa buhay ko.  Kung masaya sila na lagi kang pinupuna, bayaan na, at least, naging instrumento ka pa ng kaligayahan nya eh di mas maganda.  Saka baka kulang ang araw nila na di ka nakikita, o eh di sikat ka pa!  Imagine, bawat araw at oras binabantayan at chine-check ka, astig!  Daig mo pa ang may twitter account na may avid follower.

Ako kasi ang paniniwala ko, para di na lumaki ang gulo, dedma na lang, sasawa din 'yun pero kung feel ka pa rin niya awayin eh di gow lang!  Basta ang importante, hindi ka nakikipag-away.  Saka lagi mo tatandaan na walang nag-aaway na mag-isa.  Baliw lang ang ganun!  So kung feel nya pa rin magpakabaliw eh di bayaan mo, walang basagan ng trip.  Trip nya 'yun eh, kung dun ang fulfillment nya bilang tao eh wag mo ipagkait sa kanya yun.  Hindi karuwagan ang pananahimik at di pagpatol.  At the end of the day, importante eh ginawa mo lang kung ano ang tama at kung ano ka talaga bilang tao.

Basta ako, trip ko na lang magpaka-positive everyday.  Aaminin ko, mahirap panindigan pero dang-sarap ng pakiramdam na naging mabuti ka sa araw na 'yun.  Life is a journey and along the way, puro struggles and obstacles 'yan.  So bakit 'yun ang papansinin mo di ba?  Sabi nga, enjoy the view!  Every morning is a blessing so be grateful everyday.  It's about doing the right choice.  Ask yourself these questions:  Am I doing the right thing or not?  Am I being a good person when I do this or not?  And more importantly, am I pleasing in the eyes of the Lord or not?  Everything is a choice.  So 'yun ang stand ko ngayon.  And honestly, masarap sa pakiramdam.

I'm not saying na i-achieve mo o gawing goal magpaka-santo or santa pero walang masama kung 'yun talaga ang trip mo.  Pero hindi ba mas masarap 'yung feeling na naging blessing ka sa buhay ng iba?  Kasi wala naman tayo mapapala kung napaiyak natin o nasaktan natin ang isang tao di ba?  Pagtanda ba natin, maipagmamalaki ba natin sa mga anak natin na, si ganito inaway ko, si ganyan nasaktan ko at si ano, ayun napaiyak ko!  Aba, proud ka pa?  Pero gets mo point ko?  Lahat naman tayo aalis sa mundong ibabaw eh di hanggang maaga, 'yung maganda na 'yung itanim natin.  Legacy.  Imagine,ka-chikahan mo na si San Pedro sa langit eh ang haba pa rin ng hair mo dito sa earth dahil ang daming magandang sinasabi tungkol sa'yo ng mga taong naiwan mo dito.  Pak na pak ka dun teh!  Panalo!

So be grateful and not hateful.  Be positive always and ignore all the negative elements around you (meaning haters Ü).  Always believe in the way of a good heart! ♥

Sabi nga ni Pareng Morrie (Morrie Schwartz,RIP), once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.  I agree.  So, 'wag na tayong maging nega at hater kasi today might be the "time" (death), naku minus pogi and ganda points kay Lord yun! =)
